Hi. Thanks for stopping by and letting me tell you a little about Celia and her family.
Celia has always lived in the Cedar Falls area. She was born at the old St. Francis hospital in Waterloo and delivered by the nuns when the doctor wasn't exactly sober. After the first 4 years in Dunkerton, as part of the Dunkerton Magee clan, the Magee family moved to Cedar Falls to not only be closer to her father's job, but also for the great school system. Celia graduated from Cedar Heights Elementary School, Peet Junior High, Cedar Falls Senior High and the University of Northern Iowa. See...she has always been here!
Celia married her husband, Bill Simmer, in 1973, gave birth to a son (Ehren), in 1974, a daughter (Elke), in 1976 and a son (Erich) in 1979. In 1983 they adopted a 16-month-old daughter(Eden) from Korea and the following year they adopted brothers, ages 6 and 8, (Danny and Paul) also from Korea. That made 6 kids under 9 years of age! After 20 years of staying home with the kids; canning and freezing fruits, vegetables, beef and chicken; sewing, playing and watching 8 million basketball, softball, baseball, volleyball, football, track, tennis and cross country events and games, Celia decided to change speeds and enter the real estate field. As much as she enjoyed being at home with the family, she really enjoys working with other families helping them achieve the American Dream of home ownership.
Celia is the daughter of Cecil and Annabelle Magee, long-time builders and Realtors in the metro area...I guess Real Estate is in her blood. Cecil and Annabelle now reside in Sun City West in Arizona where Annabelle is still a very successful Realtor with the Ken Meade Realty Company. Celia has 4 siblings: Mark (New Jersey), Dwight (Maryland), Amy (Oregon) and Howard (Arizona). Celia and husband Bill are proud grandparents of three little boys, Tyler and Conner Gerdes, sons of Matt and Elke Gerdes and Hogan, son of Erich and Stacey Simmer; and a beautiful little granddaughter, Talia Elizabeth, daughter of Paul and Erin Simmer.
All these life experiences give Celia a real knowledge and love for the area that really helps with people considering locating here. Having so many children so close in age, really helps her deal with young couples buying that first home. She understands the uncertainty and newness of the process and can slow down and walk them thru the process. Having taken care of both of her grandmothers for quite a few years gives her the knowledge of what a senior goes thru giving up that family home to take up residence in senior housing. Changing houses herself several times, gives her the understanding of what families go through trying to sell one home and buy another at the same time.
Please feel comfortable working with Celia. You will not be a customer, but a valued client and friend.
